College drinking brings a range of difficult physical, mental, and social challenges to our students and college members. These can include doing poorly in classes, increases in health problems, assault, and sexual assault, and even death. The National Institute of Alcohol Abuse & Alcoholism provides more information on college drinking. If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol and believe someone has overdosed on alcohol, call 911.
Standards of Student Conduct Handbook
The purpose of the administrative process is to provide a prompt and equitable means to address violations of the Standards of Student Conduct, which guaranteed to the student, or students involved the due process rights guaranteed them by state and federal constitutional protections. This process will be used in a fair and equitable manner, and not for purposes of retaliation. It is not intended to substitute for criminal or civil proceedings that may be initiated by other agencies.
Porterville College recognizes that tobacco is an addictive substance, and the college will provide support and resources to those who currently use tobacco, those who wish to quit using tobacco products, and those who have already quit. It has been demonstrated that tobacco-free campuses are environments where people who have started to become and who have achieved tobacco independence can remain tobacco-free.
