The Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) program is designed to support educationally disadvantaged and underrepresented students in pursuing and excelling in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. By providing a structured, comprehensive support system, MESA aims to enhance academic success, increase transfer rates to four-year institutions, and prepare students for STEM careers. Key components of the MESA program include academic support, peer mentorship, research opportunities, professional development, and partnerships with industry and transfer institutions.

MESA Objectives focus on:

  • Increasing the number of economically and educationally disadvantaged students in STEM fields.
  • Enhancing transfer pathways to four-year institutions.
  • Improving academic performance and readiness in calculus-based majors. Offering hands-on STEM experiences.
  • Building leadership and educational expectations among students.
  • Strengthening relationships with educators, employers, and stakeholders for career opportunities.
  • Collaborating with pre-college MESA programs.
  • Integrating MESA into campus culture and leveraging resources.
