PC Puente Hosts Noche de la Familia
It was a full house in the Student Center on Tuesday evening as the PUENTE PROGRAM hosted the annual Noche de Familia event. Our Puentistas brought their families to learn more about the program and to enjoy an evening of connection, food, and fun!
Each of our new students introduced their families to their mentor from the program, deepening the already strong sense of community developing in the room. The night was made particularly special by some of our Year 1 and Year 2 students for sharing their inspiring experiences as part of the program.
Porterville College President Primavera Monarrez shared her excitement about the event. She said, "This was a great evening seeing the students share Noche de Familia with their families and loved ones. The student panel of Puentistas did a fantastic job sharing their experiences with the incoming cohort. Welcome to our newest students."
The Puente Program at Porterville College has the goal of creating leaders for the next generation. We believe in our students' potential and ability to achieve their academic and career goals. The Puente Project at Porterville College is here to help students build the skills they need to succeed in college and in their future career.
Once students enroll in the Puente program, they will work closely with the Puente Counselor, English Professor, Math Professor, and Mentor to prepare for transfer to a four-year university.
