Firefighter Academy Holds Graduation
Thirty-Five graduates from the Porterville College Fire Academy’s Firefighter I Program were honored during a ceremony on Wednesday, November 13.
The ceremony was held inside the PC Gym. In attendance were the families and friends of the cadets, agency supporters and partners, and Porterville College Administrators and Faculty.
The graduates each completed an intensive, 12-week training program to get there. Several of the cadets were honored with awards and honors, including scholarships presented by the families of Ray Figueroa and Patrick Jones – two firefighters who tragically lost their lives in the fire that destroyed the Porterville Public Library on February 18, 2020.
